Are You Ready For Fresh Start Monday

Hi Guys, it’s Monday and here’s our chance for a Fresh Start!

I don’ t know if you are like me, but when it comes to many things I procrastinate. I’m always saying to myself, “It’s ok today, I’ll start fresh on Monday.” Well, Monday has arrived! And in case you haven’t been paying attention the holidays are just around the corner. And so it’s now or it’s the New Year!

What’s Happening

We’ve made it through October and are on the other side of Halloween.

The end of Day Light Savings Time is kicking in and kicking me! I spent the entire last week in a sugar coma from eating just one more piece of leftover Halloween candy and my body is in a daze trying to figure out what time it is.

Ok, so now is a good time to stop, regroup and simply make a fresh start. Because it’s time for another Fresh Start Monday and making the most of the rest of the year.

Attention To Nutrition

A fresh start on nutrition with grilled chicken and fresh fruits and vegetables.

It’s time for me to put away those goodies and make a fresh start and go back to basics. Amanda Nighbert who is my nutrition coach with the Lean program always reinforces that it’s “Progress not Perfection“!

And I am making progress. In 2017, I started on a fitness journey with Amanda Nighbert and her LEAN  program which involves intermittent fasting, carb cycling, macro tracking, and exercising.

Amanda is a registered dietitian specializing in wellness, weight loss, and fitness. She is motivating, supporting and amazing when it comes to educating us to meet our wellness goals.

I have done three rounds of the program and now practice a maintenance program. For me, accountability is a great motivating factor. I have seen improvements in the blood work and my husband joins along with me in the program.

A Fresh Start To The Holiday Season

As hard as it is to believe, the holidays are just around the corner. And so, I am looking inside my closet and starting to plan for the upcoming festivities. This long red cardigan from last year will work perfectly for November and December here in North Florida. A cool hint is to wear a sleeveless shell style top underneath. Because we never know from one hour to next what the temperature will be.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving along with the family, friends and the turkey are a mere 16 days away!

My table is set and ready! Now it’s time for menu planning. With Thanksgiving coming later in November, we will start early with some Christmas decorations. How about you, are you decorating for Thanksgiving and Christmas or Hanukkah combined?

Entertainment

Now, in case you need a little downtime and you might want to enjoy a light movie at home. I watched the movie, “The Ladies In Black” on Netflix the other night.

Well, I think we have enough to think about for one Monday. But isn’t it nice that we do get to have a “Fresh Start Monday” every week?

    • I have eaten lots of vegetables and eliminated meat completely for several years. What I learned from the Lean program and counting macros, is that I am not getting enough protein and eating too many processed carbs. An eye opener for me. It’s easy to add a high quality protein shake or bar during the day.
