Sundays With Jake And Rex
Sunday morning and the sun is shining. What better reason to simply take life a little easy and enjoy the moment? It’s time for a no fuss no muss walk through the neighborhood with my two best buddies, Jake and Rex. This gorgeous morning is the perfect time for reflection on this past week and prayers for our friends, family along with all the people affected by hurricane Harvey. Today it’s Simply Sunday and I am simply grateful for everyone and everything around me.
My Distinctly Southern Shelties
Some days are just meant to be spent outside!
Fall in Florida is the perfect time for spending the afternoon outdoors.
Sitting under the shade trees and playing with my Shelties takes me to a happy place.
The Fall Orchid Show at
Kanapaha Botanical Gardens
Mid-October and it’s time to visit the Kanapaha Botanical Gardens for Gainesville’s Orchid Society‘s show and plant sale. This event is always a treat!
Sunday morning and it is time for me to count my blessings out loud. I want to practice gratitude everyday and I try. It’s hard. Sometimes I just slip up.
October has arrived! It’s a new month and a new beginning. The past month has had it’s challenges and it has also had it’s miracles.
Are You Blooming Where You’re Planted?
For years a hand made wooden calendar hung beside the rotary phone in my mother-in-law’s kitchen. It had a decorative top with hand painted flowers on it. The calendar pages were replaced yearly and it was always filled with appointments and dates that were important to her. It’s been well over three years since she left us at the age of 93.
Across the wooden headboard of calendar along with the flowers were the words, “Bloom Where You Are Planted”. For some reason those words keep echoing in my mind.
