Old Navy Spring Dress

I really getting into the swing of spring.  How about you? Saturday was quite a busy day! It’s always great when there are lots of fun things to do and this past weekend did not disappoint. I spent the biggest part of Saturday at the community carnival at Palm Chevrolet of Ocala. Later in the afternoon we stopped by to have some outdoor time with my “grand-pups”.  Patches is a  “Labradoodle” , Gracie & Brownie are “Italian Greyhounds” and last but not least Mikey the “Mutt” (he’s the leader of the pack). Love them all. I was able to keep cool all day in my Old  Navy dress.  A simple cotton shift dress and straw hat was all the fashion that I needed for the day.  How did you spend your spring Saturday?

Thanks for joining me and stopping by Distinctly Southern Style.

DIY String Party Lights

String Lights Up – Ready To Party?

String party lights for patio

The string party lights are up! It’s been a busy DIY weekend at our house. One summer housing project is complete. We have finally completed the installation of our outdoor party string lights and I am loving them. The Mr. is a fabulous do it DIY guy. This weekend’s project took a good month or more. Rainy weather and sunny beach trips, but it’s all done. I’m looking forward to drinks and dinners on the patio as the weather starts to cool for fall.

On The Road Again!

“On the road again.

Goin’ places that I’ve never been.

Seein’ things that I may never see again.” – Willie Nelson

Good morning!

Why is it whenever I am prepping for a road trip, that song starts playing in my head?

Thanks Willie! I love it.

We’re off this morning. Heading to Boca Raton in south Florida to spend the 4th of July holiday with family.

I’m looking forward to beach time, sunshine, maybe a little shopping and of course fireworks.  Boca Raton is my old stomping grounds. I really enjoyed living there and am looking forward to coming home again.

Simply Basic

Simply Basic

what are my go to items when dressing in a hurry?  that’s easy. i reach the basic pieces in my wardrobe. black and white when choosing colors. cottons and knits when selecting fabrics. these basic combinations are an easy way feel put together while remain cool in the summer heat. the cotton skirt that i am wearing was purchased from Chico’s several years ago. i liked it so much that I purchased it again in khaki and denim. i love buying off the sale rack at the end of the season. the knit top is from White House Black Market also purchased a couple of years ago. when choosing timeless, classic basics  you will never fail to pull an outfit together quickly.
