The Sea Is Calling
Today the sea is definitely calling my name. I am in need of a strong dose of sunshine and vitamin Sea. And what better place to take a break than poolside/seaside at the Boca Beach Club in Boca Raton, Florida.
Today Is All About Blue
What’s your take on blue?
Not the mid-winter blues, not feeling blue, but wearing and being surrounded by the color blue. I love it! It is my favorite color.
Whether it’s gazing at bright blue skies or deep blue seas, blue is the color for me. Maybe it’s the Baby Boomer in me. I have spend a huge part of my life dressed in denim and blue jeans. Today, when I look into my closet I still see a sea of blue.
This is a classic “Tommy Bahama” polo styled maxi in navy blue.
It is the upmost in comfort and easy to wear. I especially enjoy it for those times at home when I am in need of a break from jeans or slacks. It’s classic, yet comfortable and a perfect choice for me durning the winter months here in Florida.
Well, as you can see, I love the color blue! What’s your favorite color?

January is perfect boot weather.
Saturday was a cold winter day by Florida standards. It was 40 degrees and windy with a low of 30 overnight.
I was heading out to for an afternoon of college basketball.
Yellow Is Trending This Fall
Wearing yellow is the latest current trend for fall 2016. I’m loving it! It’s a fresh splash of color for fashion and accessories. The late summer sun flowers and blooming hibiscus of September are the perfect inspiration for the bright sunny days of fall.
Different Looks – The Same Pants
Cropped pants are a staple in my Florida wardrobe. They can offer the perfect coverage and comfort between shorts and slacks. Like slacks they can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. In this post I am featuring the same cropped pants worn for three different occasions.
I’m a huge fan of monochromatic dressing. White on white is my all time favorite color combination in summer. Cool and sophisticated the white on white combo works for great summertime.
This first look is composed of a three quarter length sleeve linen top purchased from Chico’s this season. The cropped pants were from Chico’s purchased last year. The long stone necklace is old many years old from Chico’s. The finishing touch of white gladiator sandals complete the entire look. A column of one color offers a thinning illusion. The handbag is an old favorite Tommy Bahama purchased in 2003.
Beach Time With Friends and Family
Over the past six or seven years a group of us here in Gainesville have traditionally headed over to Palm Coast to share some beach time at Hammock Beach Resort. We have usually been there as a group over 4th of July holiday. As always in life, things and times change. The kids get older and new destinations start to fill the calendar. This 4th of July arrived and everyone went their different directions. Non the less, as if by chance, it was the last weekend of July and we made it back to Hammock Beach. Friends, families and fun!
Be sure to check out the video tour at the bottom of the post!
Do You Duplicate Your Style?
Do you often look inside your closet to see more of the same? The same items or styles in different colors. I do and I like it. I have lots of duplicates of my wardrobe basics.
Fun, Food and The 4th of July
Yummm! I’ve been waiting a long time for this. My favorite foods in the whole world are Italian and our favorite restaurant in Boca Raton is Trattoria Romana. Having made that statement, I will clarify that there is no scarcity of fine restaurants in Boca Raton. We were only in town for the 4th of July weekend so we wanted to visit the ones that we were missing the most.
