It’s The Weekend – Let’s Do Nothing

Enjoy A Do Nothing Day!

Here we are together again at this one moment in time, so let’s all take the time and enjoy! Let’s appreciate the little things in our lives.  Our morning cup of hot coffee, the dogs waiting for their treat, the sweltering heat, the unexpected rain, whatever is happening in our world, let’s all stop and appreciate it.

I’m going to do nothing!

Sometimes It’s Okay To Just Do Nothing.

Today, as I am thinking about all the things coming up on my calendar and planning for more, I realized that in all this future planning I am missing out on today.

Isn’t it funny how when we reminisce about those good old days that it is usually about the simplest of moments?

And so, right here and now I give myself permission to enjoy this summer day. Today is a do nothing special day.

I’m ready to do nothing except allow my day to flow without expectation. I’m dressed and ready. I may read a book, go to the Home Depot with my Hubby, or maybe sit on the patio with the boys.

I sure when I get asked on Monday, “What did you do Saturday?”  Then without thinking, I’ll respond, “Oh, I didn’t do anything.”

Maybe, nothing is something.

Today’s Look

For me, an easy way to beat the Florida summertime heat and humidity is to pair white shorts with a breezy, cool top. This outfit is cool enough for wearing at home while doing nothing. Or it’s dressy enough for stepping out.

What’s for dinner?

“I don’t know, this is my do nothing day.” “Guess we’re going out.”

So happy that you could join me today! As usual, this is just what’s in my thoughts today and I wanted to share with you. I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend doing nothing!

  1. Yes! A Do Nothing Day is essential, right? All the things will get done in good time but taking the time to enjoy life and recharge is a necessity! I am enjoying my cup of coffee right now!

    • I know that I must stop and recharge every once in awhile and midsummer is always a good time. Surprisingly, I often need to be reminded. Enjoy your coffee and the weekend, Kellyann. Before we know it school will be back in session and busy will be back on our schedules.
