Dressing in February can feel tricky — it’s winter, but not quite winter here in the South. The good news? This is one of my favorite months for getting dressed. Light layers, comfortable fabrics, and outfits that feel polished without trying too hard are what February style is all about.
Layered Look for Winter Days in Florida

February Style in the South
Winter in Florida calls for light layers instead of heavy coats, and this easy olive-green outfit has been my go-to lately, which I’ve been shopping. from my closet. I paired a relaxed button-down shirt with a simple neutral tank and matching trousers for a pulled-together look that still feels comfy enough for coffee chats or errands around town.
The lightweight fabric keeps things breathable, while espadrilles and classic accessories add just the right polish.
It’s effortless, flattering, and perfect for our “cool mornings, warm afternoons” kind of days here in Florida. Since I thrive to purchase timeless items, I am providing you with links to current pieces that are presently available
One small winter habit I swear by is keeping a cozy wrap in my car this time of year. Our cold spells may not last long, but when they do, there’s nothing better than having something warm to throw over your shoulders. It’s such a simple thing, but it makes those January and February days feel extra snug and comforting.

Ponchos and ruanas have been a longtime favorite in my closet. They’re the perfect throw-on layer for those breezy Florida evenings — especially for golf cart rides or sunset boat outings. I’m sharing a few which are currently avaiable be and I love below.
My Go-To February Outfit Formula
When I’m pulling together everyday outfits this time of year, I always reach for pieces that feel effortless but still polished. Easy cardigans, classic trousers, and lightweight knits are the foundation of my wardrobe — comfortable enough for Florida’s mild days, yet pulled together enough for lunch out or a casual dinner. I love working in soft whites and warm tans for that timeless, coastal feel, then adding a little personality with a pop of color or an interesting texture. It’s such a simple formula, but it always looks chic, relaxed, and distinctly Southern — just the way I like it.

You always look so chic yet relaxed, Rosemary. I have a down jacket in my car for those cold days…hahaha!! I think my stay at home style formula is a pair of jeans with either a heavy sweater or sweatshirt. It’s been really cold here, but I almost think winter is over. We’re supposed to hit the high 60s this week!

Thank you so much, Marsha, you kind comment means a lot!
I love that you keep a third layer in your car, too. We just never know with winter weather.
Jeans and a cozy sweater sounds perfect, especially with temps in the 60s — that’s almost spring!
