What’s Old Is New Again
Are you ready to step up your fashion game?
Try adding a new, yet classic neutral to your wardrobe, the animal print. It’s easy to go from a just so, so, to an instant eye catching outfit. By simply, adding an unexpected piece such as an animal print to your outfit, you’ve upped the wow factor 100%.
History Repeats Itself
The origins of animal prints go back in history to kings and people of wealth who could afford expensive animal print rugs and the like. Thus, owning animal print items was sign of high status and wealth.
As early as the eighteenth century, animal print fabrics were made into clothing. By inter-twining expensive laces and elaborate silk designs fabrics were able to imitate exotic furs.
More recently, during the Bohemian movement of the 1960’s the exotic animal prints became popular.
Now once again, we are embracing the animal print in all shapes and forms of fashion. So much so, that it is now considered a classic neutral. Wear it just like you would wear black, brown, white, etc.
My Look
Last week, I reviewed this black vest from Covered Perfectly.
You can have a look at how I styled it (here) While planning my review I found endless ways to style this vest. And so, I decided to share another look with you.
This simple look made up from my items already in my closet. One animal print top, a pair of khaki shorts, espadrille sandals, along with the vest from Covered Perfectly
Yes, these prints are the perfect neutral to bring any basic outfit together. And this Covered Perfectly vest is the ultimate third piece to make a unique fashion statement.

Animal prints are so fun to wear! I remember before I started blogging I didn’t have enough courage or confidence to wear them but now I love them! This outfit is fabulous on you!
Hi there, Laura!
Isn’t it amazing how much we have grown and our tastes have matured? In years past I too was much more conservation about wearing animal prints. But I do remember a faux leopard coat that my husband gave me for a birthday when we were first dating. How I wish I still had that coat. I must confess it was many decades ago!

Hi Rosemary
I love the vest layer you added to this look, and the animal print looks wonderful on you! I don’t think it ever goes out of style. You look lovely and cool!

Hi Rosemary,
You have a stunning style with big animal print. I see your enjoyment in styling and collaboration of interiors. You are looking cute. It would better look if you wear starfish charm or alligator charm or any other charm of animal on this outfit.
Thanks
Nani

Hi Rosemary, I recently bought an animal print skirt, that I just love. I agree animal prints can be nice neutral pieces, and I like the way you’ve paired the top with the shorts and vest. Thanks for sharing.
Christina,
I really love the animal print accents. I have shoes, belts, and tops. But I have yet to obtain any bottom pieces in the animal print. I’m betting your skirt is beautiful!
Rosemary

Peace!

Cheryl,
I have worn this vest so many times. I already have a years worth of wear and I’ve only had it for two months. A great investment for a small price tag.
Thanks for hosting Top of the World. Welcome!
