The Hourglass – The Rectangle

The Pear- The Apple

Firstly, knowing your body type enables you to make the best choices in the cut, size, and lines of an outfit. And before you know it you are learning which items you want to become your signature piece.

  • The Hourglass body type is the classic body type of Hollywood’s Golden Era. This body type is larger on the top and bottom with a thin waist in the middle.
  • A Rectangle shape is straight lines and youthful dimensions. Defining the waist with belts provides shape and definition.
  • Pear-Shaped ladies are heavier on the bottom. Straight skirts are these ladies’ best friends. Very flattering.
  • Those with an Apple-Shape are rounded in the middle. These ladies too are looking to create the Hourglass shape by cinching the waist with belts.

Your Style Personality

Your clothes are an expression of your individuality in spirit, character and owning your own personal style.

Ultimately, your style personality is your unique instinctive taste and individuality. It’s what sets you apart as an individual. Plus, it allows your creativity to bloom!

  • Classic Style -The classic style personality is beautiful and timeless. She is chic, comfortable, with a bit of traditional air, and ready for any occasion.
  • Natural Style – Fresh, relaxed, and unpretentious, the natural personality is completely comfortable in her world and her own body.
  • Creative – Boho Chic – These free-spirited style-setters love earthy, ethnic-inspired looks
  • Feminine Style – She is the lady who is never afraid to show her femininity.

  1. I agree, it’s so important to embrace who you are now and have fun with style. I was frustrated with how my shape was changing in my forties, but then I realized that it gave me the opportunity for new styles and looks. xo Nipa

    • I had the same experiences Nipa.
My figure was quite boyish when younger then it started changing. My style personality stayed much the same. And like you expressed it is fun adapting and trying new ways of expressing our styles.

    • Thanks, Sherri,

Indeed life and style are so much easier once we begin learning the basic concepts.😊

  2. Jess,

You have a beautiful feminine classic style!
I favor the classic natural styles with a bit of the boho beach look thrown in for good measure. 🥰

  3. I am definitely a pear shape, and my style preferences are natural, casual, and a little bit boho. I’m in my 70s now, and my style is still evolving, as I continue to search for clothing pieces that make me feel good (confident, comfortable) when I wear them.

    • I am like you Carol, my style is evolving and changing with each stage of life. I feel my best in classic, natural styles. And enjoy a bit of boho- chic for fun. I no longer have the need for more formal work attire.

    • Hi Annie,

Indeed we are all created beautifully. And it is important that we embrace the uniqueness that is us❣️

  4. I love fashion but I have to admit I’m like a chameleon when it comes to owning my own style because I change up my looks depending on my moods. Sometimes a want a chic edgy vibe and at others I want a conservative classic look. I will never have a permanent style, that’s just me I guess.

  5. And there you just defined your own style, Nancy❣️

I think the most important part is knowing yourself and what works for your body and lifestyle.

When our lives are full and active we embrace many roles and styles.

I admire everything about your style and fashion choices!
