10 Ways To Say Goodbye Summer Hello Autumn

As these closing summer days of August grow shorter, the scheduling of fall activities starts to fill our calendars. We know the summer temperatures are going to stay with us for a while longer. And, we are not ready to say goodbye to summer quite yet! But, while we are saying Goodbye Summer, Hello, Autumn is on our minds!

Goodbye Summer

5 Ways To Say, “Goodbye Summer”

  • A Quick Trip To The Lake or Beach – It’s still hot outside, and the water is warm! Summer is officially here until September 22nd. So, a lake or beach trip may be a perfect way to end your summer season. Don’t forget to take along your favorite books to finish up on your summer reading while lounging in the sunshine.
  • A Road Trip – Plan a trip to some neighboring location that you have been waiting to visit. A quick change of scenery could turn into a mini-vacation. Plus, mid-August brings the kids back-to-school schedules to most neighborhoods. And that tends to slow down summertime activities. You are making this an excellent time to book a trip for a late summer get-away.
  • Plan a few extra Tennis Matches or time on the Golf Course.
  • Don’t forget to serve up some Seasonal Food Favorites like fresh fruits, vine-ripen tomatoes, and watermelons.
  • Lastly, don’t forget the Labor Day Holiday! This last hurrah holiday of summer makes a great reason to plan a family or friends backyard cookout!

Hello Autumn

Goodbye Summer Hello Autumn: A decorative garden bench filled with mixture of summer and fall flowers and a wooden angel.

As the light begins changing in these waning days of summer, so do the colors. With changing of the autumn leaves the warmer tones of fall start appearing. Looking to the skies we hear the honking of geese, see the flocks of migrating birds such as blue jays arriving back in the south for the winter.

5 Ways To Say, “Hello Autumn”

  • Start replacing summer flowers with fall flowers. As many of the summer plants are reaching maturity, now is a good time for pruning and replacing seasonal plants.
  • Now that school is back in session, we look forward to the competition in sporting events. (Sports are going to look different this term.)
  • Fall festivals and corn mazes will soon be popping up. (We will be enjoying outside activities and wearing our masks.)
  •  Enjoy the gorgeous colors of autumn – fiery reds, rusts, and oranges of autumn’s changing leaves bring a different color palate to our lives and fall decorating themes.
  • Now is the time to plan your autumn wardrobe filled with warm fall colors!
