Remember that first impressions are lasting impressions! It’s an undeniable fact that looking put together and polished can leave a lasting impression on people. Today, I am sharing 6 easy tips for simple ways of looking put together and polished in this post.
Dress In Neutrals
For A Put Together Look
“Dress shabbily and they remember the dress, dress impeccably and they remember the woman.” – Coco Chanel
First on my list of having a put together and looking polished look is Dress in Neutrals.
You will find that when you have a collection of neutral staples it becomes an easy way to make the most of your closet. A capsule wardrobe can start with only a few neutrals items. The bonus is that your items work and pair together beautifully. And a monochromatic look is always slimming and put together.
Invest In Quality Over Quantity
My second tip is, always purchase the best quality items that fit into your budget. One good quality item will last you season after season and you will look polished with each wearing. Now you may be tempted to purchase three items for the same amount from your budget. But, remember quality over quantity wins every time.
A few quality items such a shoes, tops, and blazers will serve you and your wardrobe well. With these items you will find that you have all you need to look put together with a small amount of effort.
Use Your Iron or Steamer For A Polished Look
Next on the list of a totally polished look is make sure your clothes are always clean and pressed. Never start your day wearing a crumpled or wrinkled outfit. Remember being well pressed shows the world that you care about your appearance. And the impression of you that are sending out into the world. Believe me it’s worth the effort.
Having a small steamer handy in your bath or bedroom makes a quick steam so easy. There are many high quality irons and steamers on available.
Your Haircut Speaks Volumes
Think about this, the easiest way to look unkept is to have messy and unhealthy hair. But the fix is so easy!
Get a good haircut and use the best hair products for your hair that your budget allows!
Always do your hair before you step outside and leave your house. If you are having a bad hair day try some dry shampoo or pin your hair up. There are so many fun hair accessories such as clips and headbands that can jazz up a bad hair day!
Remember attractive, healthy hair starts with a good haircut!
Don’t Forget The Lipstick!
Let’s think about the fact that when we are talking to someone they are looking us in the eyes and watching our lips as we speak. Yes, ladies put on your lipstick for soft and attractive lips. No need for lots of makeup, but lipstick or gloss is must. Plus, you will feel completely dressed and presentable once you have applied your favorite lipstick.
Nails
Last on the list of tips for looking put together and polished is a well manicured hands.
When it comes to nail care, do what fits into your schedule and budget. Profession manicures are a wonderful treat. But keep in mind you can always care for the skin on your hands and nails yourself. Just make sure that your nails are always clean and well shaped.
Polish is a personal preference. Always be sure to remove any polish as soon as it becomes chipped.

Your outfit is beautiful — with light-colored neutrals and subtle accessories, it really stands out. I like your tips about ironing/steaming your clothing items, wearing lipstick, and attending to nails. All good tips! While wearing masks because of Covid, I have really, really missed wearing lipstick!
