Good morning friends! And welcome to the end of this first week in August. How is it that I have been going nowhere and yet time is zipping by so quickly? July was a slow month with nothing really too awfully exciting happening here in Central Florida, and there’s not much to report. But, I have missed chatting with you these past few weeks. So let’s stop for a spell, grab a coffee, or your favorite drink. Now, let’s go sit together and do a little catching up with friends on our Front Porch Coffee Chat.
Let It Bee – Bee Sweet- Bee Kind!
Well, friends, I am going, to be honest with you. Lately, I have been having a struggle with staying on the positive side of things. Believe me, when I say, “I do count my blessings every day.” And I am so aware of the state of the things happening to so many people all around us the summer. So when I found this sunny tee, which says “Let it Bee”, it made me smile. Then the melody of the Beatles song, “Let it Be,” started playing in my head. Next, as I was shopping, I came across this coffee mug. It says, “Bee Sweet.” Immediately, I began to think about these phrases and I knew it is a conversation starter for our next coffee chat! So today, I am practicing, “Letting It Be and Being Kind along with a little Be Sweet.”
Be Sweet
Isn’t it funny how certain phrases will suddenly start popping up at you? I do believe that inspiration comes at us in many forms. Over the past few months, I have been video chatting and using the email address to stay connected with people. But, I am really missing an in-person conversation and spending time together with people. I am thinking that these “BEE” phrases are messages to me to get out of my head, to be kind because the sweetness is on its way, and just let it BEE!
Speaking of being sweet, this week, I received the most delightfully delicious French pastries from KRMA Foods. These handmade, fully baked, and ready to eat croissants are scrumptious! They are part sticky bun, and part croissant the Kouign Amann (Queen A-Mahn) has layers of flaky, buttery pastry on the inside. Plus, a salty caramel coating on the outside creating the perfect duo of crunch and delicious gooeyness!
The good news is, they are made right here in Florida but can be shipped right to our front door!
Now, I have to put some in the freezer for when my kids come home. Since, we missed our trip to France this summer, we will enjoy an authentic taste of France at our next family dinner.
It’s A Homestyle Summer
Ultimately, for us, July was a month of Staycation at home. We spent a lot of our time around the house and enjoying our backyard. Over the past few summers, we were busy traveling and escaping the Florida heat and humidity. So, now is the perfect time for catching up with friends, gardening, and enjoying – “Blooming where you are planted!”
It’s Time For The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!
The annual Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is underway! Are you a fan? It is a fantastic way to shop for the new fall fashions at sale prices! But, for me right now my attention is on year-round staples. You all that know me, know I am a huge fan of Tory Burch and the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a fantastic way to get your favorites at discounted prices!
Now here’s a tip for us Floridians or Florida vacationers, this is an excellent time to stock up on sandals for later in the year. I saw a red pair and a green pair of Miller sandals on sale. Wouldn’t they be great for the holidays? They were sold out before I could publish. But here’s tip #2, items do come back in stock, so keep checking for your choices and styles! Lastly, my Emmy Sandals are 40% off, and they come in UF Florida Gator – Blue and Orange, ladies!

You certainly seem like you’ve been busy, whether you’ve been going anywhere or not. I need to check out the Nordstrom sale, and make that delicious Keylime Bundt cake. i’ll bet it will ‘bee’ delicious!
Good morning Gwen!
I do believe one of the keys to staying positive is staying busy. I do so wish we had a local Nordstrom. Next trip down to Boca, but for now I have the internet.🥰
Thanks for your uplifting words. We really do need to remember to “Let it Be.” There are so many things we can’t control, but the one thing we can control is our reaction to the situation and how we treat others. Great post Rosemary!
Michele,
I am so happy you enjoyed today’s post!
Is the song, “Let it be”, now playing in your head too!
