I love celebrating the 4th of July! So many happy memories of this mid-summer celebration make me excited as I look forward to the holiday. It has always been a family affair complete with hot dogs and burgers cooked on the grill and lots of delicious desserts. However, we celebrate it’s a great holiday for bringing us together as friends, family, and Americans!
Holiday Trivia
* July 4, 1776, Congress approved the final draft of the Declaration of Independence. However, it wasn’t until August 2, 1776, that the Declaration was officially signed.
*The Fourth of July was not declared a federal holiday until 1938!
*The original draft was lost and the one eventually signed is the “engrossed” document. It is kept on display at the National Archives in Washington, D.C.
Recipe For The Perfect Holiday
Family, Friends & Good Food
Whatever our holiday plans, they include plenty of good food, along with family and friends. I am sharing a couple of posts from years past to inspire your thoughts on celebrating the 4th of July holiday.
Dressing for the 4th of July
I love wearing holiday-themed outfits and colors for our patriotic holidays. And I also love shopping in my closet for cute tee shirts. You may have seen the two that I am sporting today in my holiday posts from previous years.
When planning my 4th of July outfit, I naturally think red, white, and blue. By simply adding a white skirt, pair of shorts, or slacks to my patriotic tee, I am comfortable and ready for a fun-filled day of celebrations.
Now for the ultimate accessory this year, I am adding my new Navy blue Jambu & co boat shoes the Colette. This preppy-styled boat shoe is trending with the skate-inspired silhouette of a vulcanized sneaker.
Plus, they are currently on sale at Jambu & co.
