The inspiration for this post came from some powerful thoughts I’ve been experiencing all week. As the first day of the Fall season rolled around mid-week, everyone was chatting about the change of seasons. Ultimately, I began reflecting upon the past month. Wow, lots of family birthdays. Such blessings! But life is a balance. And not always an even balance. This brings up thoughts like I am not getting any younger, and there are so many things I want to do. Now, with the changing seasons, it’s a perfect time for turning over a new leaf!
As we go through our daily routines of a busy life, it is so easy to get caught up in life maintenance. When was the last time you took the time to stop and consciously think about how you are living your life? I will admit it has been quite a while for me. It is so easy to get on auto-pilot mode!
You all know what I mean by auto-pilot mode. Wake up, let the dogs out, get your cup of coffee and pick up the phone or IPad. Then there is no time for reflection, dreaming, planning, or meditation.
– Tomorrow, I’ll do it tomorrow.
I read a quote the other day that stated, “In nature, Fall is a time for letting go and preparing for the newness of Spring.”
This quote rang so true to me.
With the arrival of Fall, the leaves on the trees experience such a gorgeous change of colors and then let go. But let’s think about it. Consequently, the secret is the tree will be bursting with bright and fresh new leaves come next Spring!
Thus this changing of seasons is a perfect time for turning over a new leaf in life, dreaming new dreams, and making new and exciting plans.
Looking back, I wrote a post on Making a Healthy Fresh Start last year. There I outlined several steps that work for me.
Make a plan and track it.
Have a healthy diet plan.
Decide on an exercise program and do it!
As a matter of fact, I am happy to report that I have lost 10 lbs over the past year.
Unfortunately, as we all know, with weight loss comes the need for more exercise. ( An area that needs improvement!) I need to quit making excuses for not doing old, tried, activities and find a workout that fits my needs and my body today!
As I am looking back at this year so far, I can see the life lessons that I need to implement into my life. And I realize that it is far too easy to worry. We all do it. The grandkids are growing up too fast, family health issues, things are happening too quickly or not soon enough, I still have so many things to do!
Today I invite you to join me in turning over a fresh new leaf. Let’s look ahead and imagine the best life possible for today and tomorrow. Then start living it to the best of our strengths and abilities today in this present moment!
So with the changing of seasons, I am looking at turning over a few leaves.
How about you? I would love to hear your thoughts on changes in your lives and moods when the seasons change and if you are turning over a new leaf. We can chat in the comment section down below.
The days are definitely going by too quickly, with not enough time to do everything. My new outlook (leaf turning) is to not care so much. To take that break, to rest and recharge each day. Beautiful post, Rosemary. xo
I feel the same way, Gwen,
It’s time to remember what is most important and find the joy in everyday life. I need to break the routine and recharge too!
Thanks for stopping by!

Isnt it something how we need to remind ourselves to slow down and enjoy life. Every day is a fresh start we should take advantage of this. Fall is my favorite season and it is a perfect time to take a look at how far this year has come and make sure we appreciate how far we have come too 🥰
It seems that we go through cycles of busyness, and then times of reflection. For me the changing of seasons brings on those times of looking back and planning for the future.

Fall always feels like a new beginning to me, perhaps because my kids start school in Sept, and consequently my routine changes. I’ve been trying to make it a habit to start my day with a few minutes of meditation, and journal writing. XO Nipa
Nipa,
Meditation and journaling are both great ways to get a head start on our days.

I love fall. I spend more time outside in the cooler temps appreciating the beautiful colors. I am in my kitchen more. Favorite time of year!
I too share your love for the fall season! The drop in humidity here in Florida is a breath of fresh air! And there are so many fun activities happening! Football, fall festivals, art shows…etc. Love it!
Rosemaru
Fall is definitely one of my most productive seasons. When the temps start to drop, I am in the kitchen more and planning indoor activities.
I do love being outside more in the fall.

Fall has always been my favorite season. There are alot of things to enjoy, especially in nature. I hope to try and continue to be grateful for the progress I have made with my condition and to take advantage of some of the Fall activites I used to not be able to do.

Then there is no time for reflection, dreaming, planning, or meditation. This line is so true for me. I need to carve out time for this each day. Thank you for the reminder!
Kim
Kim,
We all need these gentle reminders of what our ultimate goals genuinely are.
And time-outs are one answer.
