Goodbye, April – Hello May!

It’s hello May and goodbye April! Hi, there and happy Friday friends! Can you believe it’s May 1st? That’s a yes and Big NO for me. Strangely, April seems like a dream. March was such a shock. Those oh no, this can not be happening thoughts were always on our minds. But we did it! Social distancing, staying home, wearing masks, taking long walks, watching Nextflix, video chatting, we did it all. And now we have arrived on May 1st, and we are moving forward to Phase 1 of the coronavirus here in most of Florida. This week has been a quarantine routine for me. But, I’m anxious to hear about your week, so grab that coffee mug and join me and the pups on the front porch for this week’s Front Porch Coffee Chat.

I’m looking forward to this first weekend in May! The weather is going to be in the 80s with sunshine and I think we will light the grill on Sunday!

May 2020

The month of April has brought lots of dog walking into our lives. That is more that usual. I can’t say that the boys have not enjoyed all the attention and the more frequent walks. Along with the practice of social distancing we are walking at different times of the day and to different locations. Two dogs do attract a lot of attention especially from kids and other dogs. We all love it, but we do keep our distance. Thus, I am scheduling our outings to less crowded times. And walking in the grassy areas and fields.

A Midweek Treat

One delicious surprise arrived in this last week of April, fresh Stone Crabs! A friend, who is also a fisherman shared his bounty of fresh stones crabs with us. What a delightful surprise! And Hubby loved every bite.

  1. Rosemary,

You look so happy on your front porch with your puppies!
I love stone crabs and I’m envious that you are enjoying them in Florida.
I can’t believe April came and went so quickly, even though we stayed at home.
I was kept busy learning new skills and trying new things with all this time on my hands.

I wonder what May will bring us?

    Hugs,
    Robin

  2. Indeed, April did pass by quickly, even though we were staying home.

  3. I’m with you, Rosemary … where did April go? It certainly was like a dream, but isn’t it remarkable how we can adapt to even the craziest, most unexpected situations? And thank goodness for dogs … I’ve said several times now that our small labradoodle saves my life many days. If it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t get in nearly as much exercise and time outdoors, both of which have helped me maintain a good mindset during all of this. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
