Simply Sunday: Weekend Musings

February’s Weekend Musings

Fresh Spring Flowers

It is hard to believe that this is the very last day of February! This month has flown by so quickly, maybe because it’s the shortest month of the year. It is a month that holds so many happy occasions for my group of friends and family. There are numerous birthdays to acknowledge including my Hubby’s along with Super Bowl Sunday and Valentine’s Day! It is good to have some positive things happening to keep our minds away from negative thoughts. Because we do recognize that we must take the bad with the good and the good with the bad. Thankfully there appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel now that we have the Covid-19 vaccine rolling out and people all over the world are feeling optimistic. It has been a stressful year unlike any other. So I say, “Wow”! We do have a lot to be grateful for on this Simply Sunday! And that is why I am sitting here and decided to share my weekend musings with you.

Looking Forward

Tomorrow is March 1st! And so with the turning of the page on the calendar, we look forward to the coming of spring. That’s right, it officially starts on Saturday, March 20th. Just think about it. Twenty more days and we can say we are into spring 2021. Isn’t that exciting? I remember as a child I truly believed that the winter would magically be gone on the first day of spring. The winter storms would be gone and I would be outside playing in the sunshine. Such happy thoughts!

More Thoughts and Musings

So, I sit here writing and thinking of the coming of spring and take a look at my calendar, I see that we are going to have an early Easter this year, April 4th and Passover starts on March 27th. That will call for many of us to start planning and preparations during the month of March. I have a previous post with a few ideas for celebrating the Easter holiday.

Fun Facts

Did you know that the date for Easter is determined as the first Sunday following the Paschal Full Moon, the first Full Moon of Spring, occurring on or shortly after the spring equinox? Passover always begins on the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Nisan. And the 15th day of Nisan is always a full moon. This is why the dates vary in different years.

What are your weekend musings? Do you often stop and look closely at your thoughts on the past and the future? Let me know in the comments at the bottom of this page. I would love to hear from you!

    • Amazing how we can be so far apart and yet so close. I too am sitting on my back porch sipping from fresh-brewed coffee that my Hubby made with his new french press. Have a great Simply delightful Sunday!
