Intermittent Fasting and Carb Cycling
Good morning friends! I hope this finds you healthy and safe as we continue to stay at home during the coronavirus pandemic and social distancing. Hopefully, we will continue to weather this storm with a positive attitude as we look forward to the days when we will begin moving about more freely. Until that time arrives, we shall wait and prepare. I’m making a plan to get me back on track, healthy, lean, and prepared for whatever Summer 2020 holds. Are you ready for the new normal after social distancing? Ready to be back on track to a healthy life? Ready to be strong and healthy?
Here’s my plan for getting back on course for a healthy life.
Get as healthy as I can using the Lean Program!
Living Energized And Nourished – LEAN
Well, in mid-March, we started our preventative measures of social distancing because of the Coronavirus. And, I have been on a loss of will power binge. Too many snacks, not enough exercise, and that’s okay.
I’ve Got A Plan!
It’s been a stressful time in all our lives. But, this week, I am looking to the future and deciding what I can do now to make the most of life once we can return to normal. Or whatever will be the new normal. And, I intend to take a healthy course of action and put myself back on a healthy track.
Okay, I have been binge eating! There I’ve said it! Now I can move forward. I know that once I leave the Easter chocolate and sugar alone, I will feel worlds better! It’s been two days, and I feel a difference already.
The Diet
Intermittent Fasting And Carb Cycling
I am back working with Amanda Nighbert’s and her Lean Program. I am doing Intermittent Fasting and Carb Cycling along with counting Macros. It sounds complicated, but it’s not. I have used the program before and it does work.
You can check out a post from my past here!
Why?
Because I am being held accountable for my food and exercise choices daily.
I am paying money for my membership and I am a part of a group of people working toward the same goals
I can participate from home by using an app to track my calories, training, and water intake.
The program demands my attention to thoughtful, healthy eating. (not binge eating)
Most of all, I have daily guidance and encouragement from Amanda, a trusted registered dietitian.
As part of the Lean Program, Amanda provides delicious recipes and guides us through weekly meal planning. The intermittent fasting and carb cycling is made easy.
Exercise
Now, Amanda Nighbert’s Lean Program covers the exercise part of my plan too!
Each day we are provided with exercises for different parts of the body, including cardio. Plus, we are held accountable to record our training for the day. Amanda offers detailed instructions and videos. All from this, from the comfort of our home. A dietitian and a trainer all in one program.
The LEAN program provides:
Daily support & accountability
Custom macro support
Weekly meal planning
Lots of delicious recipes
Exercise coaching and videos

Well, I’m excited to be starting on the Lean program again. The practice of intermittent fasting and carb cycling on the Lean program is just what I need right now to get me on track to a healthy life.
Be safe and be well!

Hi Rosemary!
Looks like a good program – both exercise and meal planning. I love fruits and vegetables- my hubby laughs as I will have canned peas as a craved snack! We can’t get a lot of fresh fruit here currently and some vegetables, but we have enough at the moment.
Best wishes on your program! I have a home gym -treadmill. Ill use it when it isn’t nice to go outside.

Jess,
Thanks for your encouragement!
I’ll keep you posted on my progress.
Be well,
Rosemary xoxo-rd
Hi Jess,
This is the program that has been working for me the past couple of years.
All healthy eating. Cycling the food on different days. Low carb, regular carb, and no carb days are doable for me.
And, the same with exercise. Mixing routines up.
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read.
Have a great week!
Rosemary xoxo-rd
Good Luck with this! You’re right we have all done a little binging and before it’s too late it’s time to get back on track. I’m a terrible procrastinator and need incentive. Just reading this helped!
Have a wonderful Week,
Nancy
Hello Rosemary,
That message from anonymous up above was from me. It sent before I could finish 🤗❤️
Hi Nancy / Anonymous,
Thanks for your encouragement! Now that I have put it out to the world, I am going to do my best to reach my goals. Being healthy is so important.
Rosemary
Rosemary,
It sounds like a wonderful program for living a healthier life.
Yes, it helps if you are held accountable and getting support from others on the program.
I have cut out carbs to only one day a week because I don’t exercise enough now to warrant eating white food like pasta and dessert.
Hugs,
Robin
Robin,
On this program, we cycle the carb days. No carb, low carb, and regular carb days. These days go hand in hand with different exercise days. Legs, upper-body, cardio. It’s never boring!
Rosemary you look GREAT!!! I have been keeping up with my workouts but my food choices have gone by the wayside since the boys have been home and I’ve been cooking and baking up a storm. I finally decided I have had enough and this week I am back on my healthy eating plan!
xo,
Kellyann
Kellyann,
I know you are doing amazing! I have been following you on your stories and I see how much you are out there walking!
This is a little like vacation…so much good food and then we are ready to get back to normal.
