A Weekend Cruise To The Bahamas

Are you feeling like you need a little get-a-way? But, no time for a long vacation. Then think about taking a weekend cruise.

That is precisely what we did a few weekends ago. Lucky for us we live in Florida and we are able to leave home on Friday morning and drive to the port of call in Port Canaveral. There we boarded the Norwegian Sun and started our weekend cruise to the Bahamas.

Once on the cruise ship, our cabin is like having a floating hotel room. Unpack and relax.

Grab a chair on the balcony and maybe a glass of wine. It’s relaxation time!

Dinner is always a special treat! A chance to get a little dressed up and yet stay a little casual!

Day one and our first stop is Stiruup Cay in the Bahamas.

Cabana at Stirrup Cay, Bahamas

Stirrup Cay is a private island owned by the cruise line. This is where you go for fun in the sun water activities. There’s snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, and my favorite, a shady cabana.

Nassau, Bahamas

Day two and we arrive in the port city of Nassau in the Bahamas.

The city of Nassau is the capital of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. The city is located on the island of  New Providence.

There are plenty of activities for everyone. The downtown area offers both low and high-end shopping. What’s on your shopping list? Luxury jewelry or a straw market souvenir you can find something to fit you taste.

Maybe, you like structured tours, they are available. And some people like to take a taxi across the bridge to Paradise Island and visit the resort of Atlantis for the day.

Since we have visited Nassau before, we decided to take a taxi and investigate the newest resort on the island, Baha Mar.

My husband and I enjoy traveling, and we especially like taking a cruise. This was an extra special three-day weekend cruise that we enjoyed along with his co-workers.

Well, it’s time to say goodbye.

I hope that you enjoyed my reminiscing about my weekend cruise getaway. And if you are interested in other cruises that I have shared on my blog, I am linking them here: Alaska and Cozumel,

Thanks for joining me.

It’s been a lovely cruise!

I am so lucky to be living in Florida and it is easy to make trips such as this happen.

About those feet selfies…I think it’s proof that we are totally relaxed…those tropical drinks help!

  2. The Bahamas are lovely. I have the best memories of our honeymoon riding mopeds on the wrong side of the road and eating conch salad. Beautiful snorkeling too. That cruise looks like a fun way to spend a weekend. Thanks for sharing.

A cruise is a fun and easy way to discover the islands or other ports of call.
Sometimes it is just a relaxing relief to unpack your bags and wakeup at a new destination each morning.
