What Is Your Attitude Age?

The Age Of Attitude

After spending this past month celebrating my birthday, and looking forward to my husband’s upcoming one, I have been thinking about the comments and observations concerning age that I’ve been hearing.

Now, for me, age has not been the center of my attention.

I am one of those gals who likes to stick my head in the sand and think, ” If I just ignore the subject it won’t matter.”

Well, there comes a time when I can no longer ignore it and pretend to be 50. All the while, my handsome son is 42. And so, I do have to own the number. But, my point is that it is only a number. I believe what shows a persons age is their attitude!

Mental Attitude

Yes, think about it. Age is all about attitude.

I’ve learned that nothing ages you faster than the mental you. It’s your attitude not the number on your driver’s license.  No, it’s not the age spots on your face, the wrinkles on your neck or the age of your kids and grandkids that make you seem tired and worn out: It’s your attitude.

A positive attitude is a key being ageless.

Let’s think about it for a moment.

Unfortunately, many children and young people have tremendous health challenges and numerous other struggles. Consequently, these battles have nothing to do with age.

This is life and life is not perfect at any age.

Now, let’s be clear here, many folks in all walks of life are facing enormous life challenges every day. Certainly, these are overwhelming and are in no way to be minimized. Nevertheless, a positive attitude along with faith allows many of these struggles to be bearable and hopefully overcome.

With this thinking in mind and a grateful heart, I ask the simple question.

“What is the age of your attitude?”

Are you a child at heart?

Or, are you 40 feeling 20?

Maybe, you are 80 looking 70?

As long as you don’t mind the number – it doesn’t matter! Now, that is what is called an ageless attitude.

It’s not about age. It’s all about attitude.

When they have a positive outlook,  I want to be the attitude age of the people around me.

I want the attitude age of an 8 and 11-year-old when I am with my grandsons. I want them to want to be around me.

I want to be the attitude age of my active friends at the gym.

I want to be of the attitude age of longtime friends when we are reminiscing of by gone times.

In short, I would like to have an ageless attitude! How about you?

What’s the age of your attitude?

Thanks for stopping by!

    • I think the head in the sand is just fine. Don’t think about it. Just be yourself and concentrate on being healthy and living your best life possible.

  1. Rosemary,

Age is just a number and as long as we’re healthy we can stay active for as long as our body will allow us.
Mental age and a positive attitude helps us to live longer.
You are embracing your life and that’s the best way to live longer!

    Hugs,
    Robin

  2. Why think about something you can’t change? I am a kid at heart and hope I never change. I am 58 and I still love to skip, eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and stomp in the mud puddles and do them All! Such a fabulous post!
    Peace!

  3. This is such a great way to look at it – it is all about how you feel! Nothing wrong with keeping a young mindset, it is so much more fun looking at things through younger eyes! 🙂

Hope that you are having a nice start to the week! I’ve just posted my weekday wear linkup on my blog if you want to join 🙂
