Originally I purchased this Brahmin crossbody bag for a wedding about five years ago. And, I have enjoyed it immensely as a crossbody and as a shoulder bag. But, it was also the best travel bag for my trip to Africa last year!

  1. Oh yes this is really good for me! So practical and trendy again love the way you wore yours. You made it look chic and that’s something I ave to try! I usually wear mine with pants and casual. Have a great rest of the week xx

  2. Rosemary,

I love to be hands free and you have a darling belt bag!

I have mostly cross body bags in my closet but may try to make one of them into a belt bag!

    • Robin,

I sure you will love converting one of your crossbody bag into a belt bag. It looks great under a jacket or vest. And it’s not at all cumbersome when at a park or playing with your grandkids.

  3. Great post Rosemary! I am a huge fan of belt bags! I love the fashion statement they make and of course the convenience they give by being hands free.
    Win Win!!

    All the best,

    Kelley

  4. So many wonderful options to choose from. It’s hard to fit everything I need in a smaller purse but one thing I’m certain of is that my shoulders feel so much better not having a large bag weighting them down. For the most part I prefer hands free.

    • Nancy,

I usually have a tote with me with all my stuff. ( many times I leave it in my car) But, these past few months, I have enjoyed being hands free a lot of the time.

  5. Cheryl,

Once, I started wearing the belt bag I love it! It did take me a while to come around and give it a try. I am self-conscious of my thick waist. But, once I tried it on a trip and under my jacket, I am SOLD!

  6. I love belt bags! They are my go to for music festivals in the summer (which are all canceled this year, boooo) because they hold my keys, my phone, and my money. Everything else gets locked in my car. I had never thought to convert a crossbody bag to a belt bag! That is genius and I have to see if I have one that will work. Thanks for sharing and linking up!

  7. Now, this is an upgrade from the fanny pack for sure. I would say not for me as I don’t like something hanging from the hips but I am sure many love it to keep the hands free.

  8. Rosemary,
I never thought to use a belt bag! The hands-free aspect is a great idea. Also for dinner parties or outside events so you don’t have to worry about putting your purse down.

Love the mustard colored cross body that turns to a belt bag. Genius!

    • Nancy,

If you have a crossbody bag with an adjustable strap give it a try. I saves trying to keep the crossbody bag in the right position if you are taking part in an outdoor activity.

  9. I have a few belt bags – they’re great for keeping documents in when travelling. And I have a couple of bags from Zara that have a detachable crossbody strap and a separate belt that threads through loops on the bag. They can also be used as clutchbags…so useful! . Thanks for linking up!
