Styling Summer Dresses

It’s One And Done With Ageless Style

Today I am joining my gal pals for our Monthly Ageless Style get-together and shared posts. Does it seem like the summer is flying by to you? It is mid-July, but we still have many more summertime happenings and celebrations. And I certainly want to be stylish without much fuss. So this is the perfect time to get together and see our friends’ fresh and effortless styles as they put together their take on styling summer dresses. Let’s chat about The One and Done aspect of Styling Summer Dresses.

For me, this has been the year of summer dresses. I have fallen in love with wearing my dresses almost daily. The one-and-done aspect of styling summer dresses is so appealing here during the Florida summers. And once I started shopping for more relaxed, casual dresses, the more I found.

I consider my Mary shirtdress a favorite for all four seasons here in Florida. It is wonderfully flattering and comfortable. All thanks to a loose-fitting silhouette and made of 100% Italian denim. The hemline falls just above the knee, and when paired with pants, it works double time as a tunic top.

One – and – Done For Special Occasions

My daughter-in-law, Shannon, and I wore short blue and white dresses with wedge sandals for our Mother’s Day luncheon at the Addison in Boca, Raton. Shannon chose a cool blue and white stripe while I wore an Antonio Melani Brynn Navy Border Print dress. I was dreaming of our upcoming trip to Italy, and this is a perfect print!

Styling Casual Summer Dresses

You all know that I am a long-time fan of Tommy Bahama clothing. You see me styling these easy-to-wear tropical pieces year after year. And this season has been no exception. I have purchased several favorites and have a few more on my wish list.

One of my coolest obsessions is the Mykonos Textured Gauze Dress! With its flowing, airy gauze silhouette, it is a one-and-done styling sensation.

Fortunately, it pairs so easily with just about anything! Making it the perfect traveling dress. By styling it with wedge sandals or espadrilles, I am ready for a casual dinner out. Or, as you can see, sporting sneakers and a crossbody bag are perfect when traveling. I enjoy this dress so much that I am considering ordering the white one.

Your Favorite Dress

Well, it seems that you all are looking for a simple and stylish summer dress. And your favorite Instagram post this season is the Palm-A-Dora Island Key Sheath Dress. It is a one-and-done summer dress. Slip it on, zip it up, and go!

  1. You have so many fabulous dresses for summer! I love the blue and white print. I have just started wearing dresses this summer and while I tend to gravitate more towards maxi dresses, I am seeing why so many people prefer them to capri pants or shorts.

    • Joanne, I am wearing dresses this summer more than ever.

I have a couple of new maxi dresses that I am looking forward to wearing.

    • I am loving the shirt dress trend, Mireille! There are so many materials from which to choose.

    • Jodie,
I too am finding myself more comfortable in dresses this season. The cuts and materials are so comfortable.

    • Hi Amy,

This is the summer of dresses for me too! I have been wearing them non-stop as you can see.😉

  2. I can see why you love to wear dresses, you have so many wonderful ones to choose from! I love the chambray dress on you, it makes you look so chic and casual but without any fuss. I also love the all white. Nothing screams summer like all white. Dress on vacay are so convenient and take very little space in the suitcase so I am sure they all got lots of wear while on your trip to Italy. Have a great weekend.

    • Bojana,

This is the year of the dress for me. I have worn more dresses this season than ever before. Previously, I would reach for a dress when heading out to dinner. But, once I found a few soft comfy ones it has been good slacks and shorts on almost a daily basis.

  3. These are all adorable. I keep saying I am going to reach for dresses more this summer but it is too hot to wear anything!! Ha!! I am wearing shorts and tanks and still overdressed for this heat.

I especially love that all of your looks stand-alone without a lot of fuss or accessories. They are great all by themselves.

    • Hi Leslie,

I know what you are saying about the heat. Geez, is it ever got here in central Florida!

I am a long time shorts and tee gal when at home. But, once I collected a few dresses that are loose around the waistband I was hooked. One and done and I am loving it.

  4. Hi Rosemary,
You and I have similar taste. I love all the pretty dresses here. I prefer summer dresses to shorts. I’m just more comfortable in them. Great selection!

    • Nancy,
I am finding myself wearing dress more than ever this season. And sports instead of shorts. Yours beautiful posts inspire me.
