Thoughts On Valentine’s Day

As Valentine’s Day rolls around, expectations of Love and Gifts are rising among young and old alike. Among us, who doesn’t remember those special Valentines starting with our grade school Valentine Boxes and candy hearts? Then came that special someone who made our heart go pitter-patter. And then, if we are lucky, our world became filled with so many levels of love for friends, family, and many unique thoughts on Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day is the ancient holiday of love that breaks the doldrums of winter in mid-February. Who can resist all the bright red hearts, beautiful flowers, sweet treats, and maybe a bit of romance? Indeed we all crave love and attention. As for me and my thoughts on Valentine’s Day, I think we should be sharing this day of love with everyone.

Red Valentine Hearts

In a previous Valentine’s Day post, I wrote, “Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love in all its glorious splendor. And its unlimitedness of love comes in all shapes and sizes. Of course, romantic love is the first thing that pops into our minds when thinking of Valentine’s Day. But, it is also a delightful chance to show others in our lives just how much they mean to us.”

My Thoughts On Valentine’s Day!

I think that Valentine’s Day does not need to be just another modern-day materialist holiday. Instead my thoughts are that this is the perfect opportunity to show the ones we love how we love them every single day of the year.

Ways Of Showing Love

Let’s share time and show appreciation with our family and friends.

Remember those who are alone – call, send a card or text. You may be the only bright spot in thatsomeone’ss day.

Be giving of yourself in accepting the gifts of others.

Give without expecting anything in return, be selfless. – This is your special gift to yourself.

Do something special for the kids in your life. Remember that today, you are making the memories that they will hold of you in the future.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Enjoy this beautiful season of love and sharing with those around you.

Happy Valentine’s Day❣️

  1. Wise words. And you look lovely in that red outfit. Love the white tennies with it. Comfy but festive. We have begun focusing on the little ones, the grandkids, for holidays. And are focusing on making memories rather than giving more and more ‘stuff’,

    • I remember becoming more aware of sharing the love as my parents became older and the kids arrived on the scene.

      Happy Valentine’s Day❣️
