Latest News

It’s good to be back and to connect once again. Unfortunately, I did not plan on skipping out on our weekly chats. But we started doing some outside house maintenance. And I found my porches stripped bare. The good news is, we are finishing up! Now, the house is power washed, the roof and windows are all cleaned. Plus, the shrubbery beds are all freshly mulched! I must say things are looking refreshed and feeling good. Now, I can begin thinking of decorating for the 4th of July! So, go ahead and grab your coffee cup and meet me on the porch and let’s get up to date on with this week’s scoop and Chat!

Working on DIY project for Front door

It’s finished, my DIY project of replacing the worn and faded wreath on the front door! You may remember, a few weeks ago when I shared it with you on an Instagram post. At the time, I am working filling this Adirondack basket with summer flowers. I love the idea of using a basket and I am thinking of different ways to change it up with the seasons and for the holidays!

Haile Farmers Market - Front Porch Coffee Chat

Our first Saturday morning at the farmers market this year!
The boys love to get out and go for a ride in the car. And a Saturday morning trip to our local farmers market is a perfect destination!
🔅
Sadly, our favorite breakfast and brunch on the patio restaurant are now closed. A victim of the coronavirus economy. But it feels so good to get out and about in the fresh air and sunshine a little.

    • Lucia,

I do love having porches at my home. We spend so much time there. And it has been a way of life for me. My family always had homes with front porches.

  1. I love your front porch Rosemary! Also loving the colorful plants. Our oldest son has been interested in botany and he’s been making all kinds of recommendations about plants – I love it! Everything is so pretty when the flowers are in bloom.
I’d love to make it to Gainesville’s Farmer’s Market one of these days!

    • Kellyann,

You would love the Saturday morning Farmers Market.
We loved going to the Winter Park Saturday market when we lived in Orlando.
Do you ever get a chance to go?

    • Shelbee,

Having a front porch is a great way to stay at home and to be social at the same time.
We love sitting in the front and chatting with our neighbors as they stroll by our home. It is a blessing to live in a walking community!

    • Suzana,

Replacing the front door wreath has been on my to-do list for a couple of years!
When I was thinking about it, I was not finding anything that I liked. I think this basket will work wonderfully. I love idea of changing the flowers with the seasons.

  2. I just love your front porch. I would be there all the time. What a lovely place to live.

    Peace!

    • Cheryl,

I do love our community. The homes have porches and the garages are accessible through the alleys.
Lots of walking, talking, and a true neighborhood feel.

  3. I can’t wait to get to the farmers market again but we are in a such densely populated area I’m probably better off going to the country. Always love ideas for outdoor decoration and love Sunflowers. So this is such a good inspiration.

  4. Rosemary,

What a wonderful front door floral basket!
I love your front porch and enjoy seeing your gorgeous shelties.
Front porches are a wonderful way to spend the day!

    Hugs,
    Robin
